Sujit Choudhry Uses Center for Constitutional Transitions to Promote Justice

Comparative law entails the study of the relationships, differences, and similarities between legal systems. This is a method of comparing the unique legal systems in different states, societies, communities or nationalities. The basis of studying comparative law is understanding how various legal systems can be applied in various scenarios. That is the relevance of Sujit Choudhry, a constitutional law professor who is internationally recognized for his legal input in the society. Sujit Choudhry established the Centre for Constitutional Transitions. Based on blogs.law.nyu.edu, the Centre for Constitutional Transitions was established when Sujit Choudhry noticed that it was important to help in the initiation of new democracies. According to Sujit, there was the lack of updated evidence in the fight for justice. Through this organization, however, there has been the progressive growth of evidence-based research to arrive at constitutional solutions. He sought to bridge the gap between justice and knowledge by founding an instrumental institution. This organization connects approximately 50 law experts across more than 25 countries. It forms an invaluable resource for many countries. Through Sujit’s guidance, the Centre for Constitutional Transitions has assisted many countries that are experiencing a transition in the constitution.

This was made possible through the establishment of Centre for Constitutional Transitions.
