Sujit Choudhry’s Expertise Regarding Constitutional Transitions Through His Education And Experience

Sujit Choudhry is connected to the Center of Constitutional Transitions. The organization supports the building of the constitution by leading internationally based networks so evidence can be founds to aid research and decision makers. Sujit Choudhry has been a constitutional advisor for many years. He has been an advisor for new democracies, written new constitutions and made amendments to existing constitutions. Most issues are caused by non-existent, outdated or incomplete knowledge.

Sujit Choudhry has degrees in law from three countries and navigates political and legal environments and understands every country has different stakeholders, histories and issues. Sujit Choudhry considers himself a scholar in comparative constitutional law. He believes the current challenges regarding liberal democratic constitutionalism are the biggest since World War II. He believes America needs to learn from the failures and successes of other countries. He says listening and responding to people is important because it will reveal the truth.

Sujit Choudhry admits his ideas were once very fixed and when projects did not go as expected he became discouraged. He has learned to use these setbacks as opportunities to find something even better. He achieves his goals through reinvention and this has led to his success.

Sujit Choudhry believes new organizations are needed to host and organize important laws from the constitution. He says these cases must be taken from all across the globe and in many languages. He feels if this happened the history of constitutionalism would see a positive change.
